Australia has new health research gender standards & centuries of inequity to fix

The National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) and the Department of Health and Aged Care, responsible for implementation of the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF), have released a joint Statement on Sex, Gender, Variations of Sex Characteristics and Sexual Orientation in Health and Medical Research (the Statement). 

The Statement is an opportunity to learn from past practices and apply them in a modern Australian context, to improve research practice and create better evidence and ultimately better health care for all.
